Your Skills

  • Deep knowledge of acoustic fundamentals
  • Deep knowledge of audio measurement techniques and tools (Soundcheck, Audio Precision, Klippel, etc)
  • Deep knowledge of speaker subsystem design and validation for consumer products
  • Deep knowledge of microphone subsystem design and validation for consumer products
  • Working knowledge and interest in a CAD tool (SolidWorks, etc)
  • Working knowledge and interest in acoustic simulation methods and tools - from scrappy (Matlab, Python, ARES, spreadsheets) to advanced (COMSOL, etc.)
  • Familiarity with digital audio and data protocols (I2S, I2C, SPI)
  • Familiarity with DSP algorithms and metrics

Your Experience

  • You have a degree in engineering, physics, acoustics, or music
  • You have 4+ years working on audio subsystems for consumer or pro products
  • You have experience working as an acoustics subject matter expert on a cross-functional team
  • You have helped ship multiple products where you were directly responsible for transducer and/or audio subsystem performance

Your roles and areas of impact:

  • Owning client technical relationships
  • Owning ODM/JDM technical relationships
  • Teaching/mentoring teammates
  • Driving acoustic architecture and design decisions for complex products through a data-driven approach
  • Delegating engineering tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Traveling to/for client programs, remote team management, JDM engagements
  • Creating and executing audio test plans and documentation
  • Evaluating and benchmarking transducers and various audio components
  • Evaluating and benchmarking audio DSP algorithms and new technologies effects on transducer and audio subsystem performance
  • Managing and running failure analyses
  • Managing and running design of experiments for acoustic prototype permutations
  • Driving vendor technical relationships
  • Communicating highly technical concepts and test results in an effective manner
